2021! Finally. As we welcome the new year, we love to reflect on everything we accomplished in the last 365 days. 2020 was a crazy one, but nothing stops our team from pushing and working hard to teach the next generation of engineers and producers and create great music!
Starting off 2020 we were excited to welcome new members to our team. Jess Lambert, our Studio Office Manager has joined our family to help all of us in more ways than imaginable. We also welcomed two new interns to our team, Nick Goforth and Art Colberg, to help with various tasks in the studio while also furthering their audio careers. We are also super excited to welcome back Kyle Dickey, a former student of CSML (who spent the last 5 years touring with acts such as Salt n Pepa, Vanilla Ice, and Naughty by Nature) to be an engineer here at the studio as well as instructing our Live Sound CSML course.
Thanks to our growing family and dedicated workers, we have made huge progress on developing Studio W, our newest addition housed in the building directly adjacent to our existing facilities. Amongst several other exciting developments, this multifaceted creative space has also become the base of operations for Colorado Sound Media Labs. Studio W has been an enormous project for us, as we have spent countless hours building it bigger and better to house our students, and allow them to participate in real world studio sessions using state of the art gear.

Using Studio W, we were able to adapt to the rapidly changing music industry throughout 2020. We expanded our video department and produced video content for clients such as Hazel Miller, Chris Daniels, and Arise Festival for streaming their shows. We love to have a place ready to shoot, record, and mix full streams using the hybrid of Studio W and the Colorado Sound Mobile Truck. In addition to livestreams, we directed and produced music videos for our clients! This has expanded our ability to facilitate the creative process for our clients beyond the recording studio and extending into the realm of visual arts. Adding music video production to our wheelhouse now allows clients to come in and have our team record, mix, master their music and then create the video for their song.

We have not slowed down with CSML as we continue to teach and mentor students to become the best engineer, producer, or songwriter that they can possibly be! We are happy to have had students begin their journey as well as graduate throughout this last year. Make sure to check back soon as we are always expanding CSML and working on the development of new courses.

In 2020 we continued to do what we do best: produce, record, mix and master countless songs, EPs, and albums for clients locally and nationwide! We have had a blast recording some beautiful sounds from our new Neve 5088, while we continue to expand our gear and plugin arsenal. And so, we have closed 2020 with a great sense of accomplishment and gratitude. It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that we look into 2021 with a renewed sense of optimism and a heightened passion like never before. We hope you’ll consider joining us for the journey. Rock on!
